We are looking to hire a : ANGOLA BU Operations Responsible- Santa Clara Angola

Responsibilities

  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional interfaces;
  • Obtain relevant information on the requirements of customers for logistics operations;
  • Provide customers with clear and relevant advice with information on the logistics operations;
  • Respond positively and effectively to the requirements of customers;
  • Agree with customers the timings and deadlines for the logistics operations;
  • Determine the logistics resources and sequence of tasks required to provide the logistics operations;
  • Review all relevant factors and risks that could affect schedule;
  • Implement Area Standards (processes &structure) in line with Operations Management;
  • Monitor performance : Productivity; quality of service; data; subcons, incident management;
  • Assure appropriate coughing in cooperation with HR;
  • Assure the correct and full use of standard operational applications : FOS, SAP;
  • Identify and respond to any training needs associated with the use of the standard operational applications;
  • Reinforce the importance of operating in accordance to PA’s Code of Conduct;
  • Support work practices, operating procedures and guidelines;
  • Inform all relevant people of the contingency plans and provide advice and guidance on their implementation;
  • Explain to subordinates the content and meaning of current legislation and regulations;
  • Provide leadership for the team;
  • Encourage and support team members to achieve their personal work objectives and those of the team and provide recognition when objectives have been achieved;
  • Make time available to support others and show respect, helpfulness and co-operation;
  • Functional Responsibility over Operations organization in the BU;
  • Disciplinary responsibility for all direct reports;
  • Process ownership for local contents;
  • Enforce Operational corrective measures to ensure operational excellence;
  • Know how in air / ocean / logistics / SCM;
  • Understanding of PA strategy and products;
  • Knowledge about markets and competitors;
  • Understanding of business principles and language, incl. the fundamentals of finance and profitability;
  • Business administration competence;
  • Sales and negotiation skills;
  • Overall understanding of business processes and interdependencies;
  • Knowledge of business processes;
  • Knowledge in freight forwarding and logistics;
  • Willingness to travel;
  • Ability for building a team with diverse leadership and technical skills;
  • Ability of effective people management through KPI setting and measurement;
  • Ability for systematic and rational analysis to identify the root cause of problems;
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and to drive innovation and change;
  • Capable to generate creative ideas / solutions;
  • Strong networking skills and relationship building;
  • Ability to integrate and coordinate efforts and resources across functions and boundaries;
  • High result orientation and customer focus;
  • Strong decision-making capabilities and high accountability;
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills prioritize, plan, assign and control;

  • Educational background / Work experience

  • Higher education level and a business administration qualification;
  • Operational industry experience minimum 5 years;
  • Management experience.
  • Language skills

  • Fluent in Portuguese and English;
  • Computer Literacy;
  • MS Office skills and good knowledge regarding PA IT systems.
