PURPOSE

The Commercial Manager is responsible for Sales, Business Development and Communication Shared Services. Furthermore, the job holder is responsible to sustain the current business, increase revenue sales whilst producing a profit margin in line with budget.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Support and improve the company’s business, by fostering and developing relationships with customers, suppliers and closely follow up communication with all related partners
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager of Viana (Angola) to improve profitability through careful strategic planning and positioning on the existing and arising markets, always under commercial management orientations
  • Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas and sector, providing proper feedback to Plant Manage Viana (Angola), working closely with them
  • Act as the key interface between our customers as well as suppliers and all relevant internal departments in order to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations
  • Responsible for shared service communication and alignment with internal and third party shared service
  • Provide information to the Production Manager to align and plan orders according with all customer needs and ALPLAs interests
  • Liaise with the finance team, warehousing, and logistics departments as appropriate
  • Elaborate business plans and article calculations
  • Update price lists as well as prepare, analyse and monitor pricing taking into consideration FX-fluctuations and changes in raw material prices
  • Develop and ensure that proper procedures are established which fulfil all ALPLA stakeholders and partners, especially with the shared services companies
  • REQUIREMENTS

  • Min. 3 5 years’ experience within Commercial area in FMCG and proven track of leading people
  • Relevant qualification
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese
  • Enthusiasm for a demanding industrial product and technical understanding
  • Experience in managing accounts
  • Excellent negotiating, relationship building and communication skills in English and the local language
  • Willingness to travel, frequently.
  • Strong team player who enjoys to build and develop a motivated team
  • Highly self-motivated and self-driven
  • Profound MS Office skills; especially Excel
